"Of the total number of people of working age out of work in Britain, 40 per cent are disabled."

What we do

Working in partnership with employers, service delivery providers, health professionals and statutory bodies Open Mind aims to improve opportunities for disabled people and those with mental health issues.

How?
Through the provision of training, consultancy, research services and project management activities we:

  • help employers to develop and maintain a mentally healthy working environment
  • develop strategies to raise awareness, and address stigma and discrimination associated with mental health and disability employment.

We also participate in local and national forums related to disability and mental health employment and training, often representing the needs of employers.

All of our solutions are either informed by or directly influenced by service user involvement.

Our approach:
In most cases, we develop partnerships in order to link our expertise and experience with that of others. This collaborative approach helps to create an effective working model and allows us to share best practice.
