Notes for editors:

World Mental Health Day was observed for the first time on 10 October 1992. It was started as an annual activity of the World Federation for Mental Health by the then Deputy Secretary General Richard Hunter. World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10 October each year. It is an internationally recognised day to promote mental health and wellbeing around the world. The international theme of this year's World Mental Health Day is mental and physical health across the life span, emphasizing the importance of recognizing the inter-dependence of good mental and physical health at every stage of life.
