Haringey launches Welfare to Work for Disabled People Strategy

The Haringey Welfare to Work for Disabled Partnership has been established in order to ensure ongoing support for disabled people who can work - enabling them to take up and remain in meaningful employment.

Areas of activity include supported employment initiatives, barriers to employment research, employment and training project co-ordination and monitoring, and Disability Awareness training.

Open Mind is a member of this board which is chaired by Bill Slade and comprises representatives from a wide range of local voluntary and statutory disability support organisations including: the Local Authority social care team; Barnet, Enfield and Haringey PCT; the Economic Regeneration Dept; and JobcentrePlus.
